WELLESLEY, Mass. — Porticus Technology, Inc., announces the release of VoiceKeyID™, a voice authentication module and API for securing wireless applications and devices with advanced 4-factor security. “Our technology is optimized for mobile where a voice modality makes most sense” states Germano Di Mambro, CEO and founder of Porticus. Board member George McClelland adds “Industry is beginning to require security beyond two-factor security to a more advanced 3 and 4 factor model. Many industries including banking, healthcare and government can benefit by minimizing risk and meeting compliance mandates such as FFIEC and HIPAA”.
As a software only solution, VoiceKeyID™ is offered in a Security as Service Model, saving enterprises on capital outlay associated with other biometrics or tokens. Porticus was recently issued an US patent for its wireless security module. With VoiceKeyID™, up to four factors of security are combined into one solution and API; the BiometricID, DeviceID and LocationID, along with a spoken passphrase.
In 2010 Porticus’ VoiceKeyID™ will be available for every major wireless operating system with an API for integrating with Applications. Currently, APIs are available for Symbian and iPhone Application Providers and Developers.
As more and more data and applications proliferate on wireless devices the need for enhanced security becomes paramount. “With the increase in identity theft, customers are on high alert, and seeking quicker and easier advanced solutions to authenticate a caller’s identity prior to the release of sensitive data,” said Germano Di Mambro. “Working with Application developers and OEMs will ensure that the multi-factor authentication security supports the wireless ecosystem. We help our partners further protecting their greatest assets—their customers.”
